TeamCard Stadium Access

TeamCard was Europe’s first multi-function smart card and pioneered this sector in the UK with the deployment of smart technology in 2000 at Bolton Wanderers Football Club. More than 10 years on now, TeamCard has grown to become the industry standard with clients such as Chelsea FC, now a TeamCard client for over 8 seasons.

Back then, smart cards offered a high degree of off-line security at card level and provided portable entitlement stored within the chip. But now, with the emergence of the web and the reliability of online communication to host systems, storing and processing data on a smart card chip is now simply unnecessary for this environment.

Leading the way, yet again, Scotcomms has developed The TeamCard Access Solution which addresses the challenge to create a cost-effective solution for stadium access without the high capital cost of smart turnstile readers and the ongoing expense of smart cards year-on-year.

Using WallScan, the TeamCard Access Solution can read a barcode card at a turnstile and in micro-seconds. The high quality display authorises entry, or, shows in plain text the reason for refusal (card invalid, wrong gate, concession ticket etc.). The system can also control electrically operated turnstiles in an unattended environment.

TeamCard Access represents the next generation of stadium access solutions that are not only economical, but preserve and exceed the functionality of current smart card entry devices. The TeamCard Access Solution is fast, simple and contactless; it dramatically reduces the cost of deployment and ongoing ownership. Once again, TeamCard is setting the standards in the sports membership sector.
