Near Field Communication will see applications in multiple sectors including sales, marketing, promotions, payment, transport, tourism, retail, events, and social networking. In anticipation of the impact on the industry, we are priming our existing solutions to easily integrate with NFC functionality.
Within the sport membership environment, electronic tickets with embedded access control can be delivered to a fans enabled mobile phone as a secure NFC token that can be read at the turnstiles, thus replacing smart cards. Promotional and sponsorship activity can be stimulated by NFC embedded marketing inventory, for example, in the form of NFC smart posters, placed strategically within stadiums. Attending members can collect rewards or vouchers via their NFC enabled handset which will entice further engagement within the club.
Town / Visitor passes
As with TeamCard, the traditional visitor pass could be replaced entirely with a secure entitlement token downloaded to their NFC-enabled phone containing the attraction entitlements. Further commercial enhancements may include passive tokens, in the form of NFC stickers, strategically placed to attract passing visitors, allowing them to collect added benefits such as vouchers for theatre, dining and accommodation.
With extensive experience in the delivery of successful loyalty programmes in the retail sector, solutions can easily be integrated to introduce NFC Technology for retail reward. As with previous examples, NFC enabled smart phones would allow shoppers to collect targeted offers, from an individual retail outlet or within a shopping complex or mall, from strategically placed marketing inventory designed to capture the attention of, and engage with, potential clientele, thus encouraging further internal activity.
