Ipswich Town FC launched with TeamCard in August 2005, to help improve stadium security, cut operational costs, and track loyalty and to bring a range of benefits to Blues supporters. Over 18,500 TeamCard were presented to season ticket holders in the first season. Ipswich now extend the TeamCard scheme to include Silver Club and junior members who can collect TeamCard points redeemable against purchases at Portman Road.
Ipswich will be extending TeamCard fobs on request to existing season ticket holders and Silver Club members, to encourage the loyalty programme and counter the reluctance some supporters feels to carry their season ticket.
"From a Ticket Office perspective I am looking for an access system that, on matchdays, needs as little intervention as possible whilst providing a secure, controlled and rapid method of entry into the stadium. The TeamCard system, which integrates seamlessly with our ticketing system, has provided this service throughout the 4 seasons we have used it. As well as controlling our season ticket entry for all scheduled league matches we also use it for cup matches which not only gives direct savings on postage but also assists with the tight timescales for sales of these matches. Additionally, the issue and printing of season tickets and membership cards is so simple, the reporting suite covers our normal requirements and the account management and technical support is excellent."
