At season start 2009, Carlisle United Football Club introduced the TeamCard membership loyalty scheme to its supporters with an aim to boost revenue whilst delivering value back to the supporters. It was also critical for the club to understand the behaviour of their fans to ensure what they offered matched their fans’ expectations.
The club worked tirelessly pre-season to promote the value add to membership available through TeamCard to the fans. As a result the club achieved an uptake of over 20% registration and thousands of £s worth of TeamCard related spend within days of launch.
The club continue to promote TeamCard value to its supporters. With regards to the TeamCard proposition, Martin Hudson, head of United’s Business Development was quoted saying "It’s great to see Carlisle United right up there in the vanguard of this alongside some of the biggest names in sport and retail all using TeamCard."
